Overview of the Role

Role: Internal Finance Manager
Reporting to: Head of Finance and Operations
Salary: depending on level and experience
£45,000 to £60,000
Location: Remote - Working from Home (UK)

At Onside Accounting, the Finance Manager supports the internal finance function of the business, ensuring accurate reporting, strong controls and effective day-to-day finance operations across Onside and other group entities.

This is a hands-on, commercially minded role with ownership of core finance processes across multiple entities. You will work closely with the Head of Finance & Operations and partner with the Senior Leadership Team, providing timely, reliable information and driving process improvements.

Onside is part of the Multiplier group, a fast-growing portfolio of professional services businesses. As the portfolio grows, the scope of the internal finance function will expand, with increasing ownership of group-wide reporting, stronger controls and scalable processes.

Internal Finance Manager Responsibilities

Owning core internal finance processes across multiple group entities, ensuring accuracy, completeness and timely delivery.
Leading the preparation of year-end accounts and corporation tax returns.
Management reporting.
Owning the forecasting process, including regular reforecasting based on latest actuals and key business drivers, with a focus on tracking R&D forecast against actual progress.
Preparing and submitting VAT returns, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
Overseeing accounts receivable and accounts payable processes.
Supporting payroll processes, including preparation and coordination of required inputs, and ensuring accurate posting and reconciliation in the ledgers.
Monitoring finance KPIs and ensuring key deadlines are met, escalating risks and issues proactively.
Supporting the Head of Finance & Operations and wider Senior Leadership Team with ad hoc analysis, reporting and operational requirements.
Maintaining and improving internal financial controls, processes and documentation.

Skills and Experience Required

ACA / ACCA qualified (or equivalent), or AAT qualified and studying towards ACA / ACCA (or equivalent). Study support is offered if applicable.
3+ years’ experience in a UK accounting practice (VAT, month-end and year-end experience is vital).
Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and maintain responsiveness in a fast-paced environment.
Strong technical accounting capability including strong Xero experience.
Experience preparing and/or coordinating corporation tax computations/returns (with external support where required).
Demonstrable ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
Extensive structured home-working experience (non-covid) as a minimum, contractually agreed hybrid homeworking at least two days each week
